"New Year, New Start” – isn’t this what everyone says after Christmas? I know I did! I joined the gym in Jan 2017 and went to every class I could possibly fit in. I had gym buddies and we went every week. Work starts getting in the way though and you find the classes start to dwindle away. I made the decision to get myself a personal trainer which is where Ian came in. I signed up with a gym buddy and loved the 8 weeks we signed up for – so much so I signed up for individual 1 on 1 with him and have been ever since. He helped me build up my confidence and pushed me to my limits! I loved the push and could really see a difference to the starting weights and the weights I am lifting now. Ian hasn’t only pushed me to gym 4 times a week (2 with him) but has also massively helped me build up my confidence. On the 6 week challenge I really started to see a difference in my body shape – it showed on my first weigh in. I was amazed at how much I had changed in 3 weeks. I was so happy it gave me the drive to carry on working my butt off! Week 4 I became ill with a throat infection which has unfortunately haunted me now 3 times in the space of 6 weeks so my weight has managed to creep back up. I started back with Ian 2 weeks ago and soldiered through to my weigh in this morning – I had lost the weight that I had gained and have managed to build up muscle again. I’m so happy with everything Ian has helped me with that I’m continuously signing up with him every time my weeks are up! I’m a bridesmaid next year and Ian knows what my limits are so is pushing me to reach my goal - which I know I can do with his help. I would recommend signing up if you want to see a difference not only in your shape but in your confidence too. Gone are the days where I wouldn’t try the machines in case I looked silly trying to work it out! I'll happily go in with a pair of headphones on and do my plan! Masterplan Fitness is the way forward for me!...

Client A – 6 week transformation

When I started at the gym I had little knowledge on how to use the majority of the machines or where to start with weights. For roughly a year I was doing the same thing each time I went, only going on machines I knew how to use, meaning I was seeing very little progress. That was when my friend and I approached Ian for some advice and got introduced to the six week transformation programme. It was definitely the best decision we could have made! Ian not only showed ushow to use the machines but what exact weights we should be using and how to calculate macros in order to see the fastest progression. Looking back it has been more than just a transformation programme to lose weight. We are now both knowledgeable on what foods we should be eating, how to use every part of the gym and how to vary our workouts! Can not thank Ian enough for providing us with the support and help that we needed! Ian even provided advice on how to build muscle around weaker joints that I had problems with in the past. Would highly recommend this programme for anyone who would like a supportive and encouraging environment for getting a kick-start into fitness. ...

Lauren – 6 week transformation

I started going to the gym properly last year as I wasn't happy with my body. I could always slim down a bit but then got stuck at a certain point. After putting on weight after my holiday back in the summer I struggled to get back into good habits and going to the gym so I asked for Ian's help. The exercise part of the plan was a challenge as I did a mix of weights and HIIT, which I'd never done before. I really enjoyed it however the food part was hard. I struggled to eat the amount of calories and meet the macros I'd been set so I made no progress. After some tips from Ian I purchased my first bag of protein and managed to meet my macros for the last 3 weeks. I now feel much fitter and leaner than I've ever felt and will definitely be carrying on with everything I've learnt. Thanks to Ian I can now throw away my baggy jumpers and will be comfortable wearing my tight dresses just in time for Christmas....

If anyone is looking for a personal trainer in or around Hemel I have no hesitation in recommending Ian Desmond from Masterplan Fitness. I have been working with Ian for the last 8 weeks to get me fitter, lose weight and build muscle mass all of which I am achieving. Ian will tailor your programme based on your goals and lifestyle. He helps with nutrition and makes sure every session is different whether it be in the gym or outside, weather permitting. Masterplan Fitness is based out of The Gym on Jarman Park which is one of the cheapest gyms in Hemel. He has flexible times for sessions (early mornings right through to evening appointments). Ian knows his stuff and pushes you to real go past where you thought your limits are. No pain, no gain as they say. The only downside is I have had to jot out a whole new wardrobe from the weight loss :) Seriously though, if your contemplating taking the jump and getting fit, lose weight or get ripped ready for next summer then give Ian a shout....

Ian is a great trainer! He made me feel really comfortable during our training sessions since I was not familiar at all with working out! He made our sessions fun and gave me plenty of tips and nutritional advice. When I needed a little bit more motivation he was there supporting me and I know he will still be there in the gym when needed now our sessions have ended. Would definitely recommend him!!...

Carrie – 6 week transformation

After getting hooked on the gym I got into really good shape a few years ago. As a result of various personal reasons I lost my way and got stuck in a rut of emotional eating and cardio overdrive. I lost a lot of my muscle and my body fat was increasing. That's when I went to Ian and he offered his help to get me back on track. When he said to ditch the cardio and eat more carbs & fat I was sceptical! 😳 The first 3 weeks the exercise rut was easy to break and I did HIIT and weights only. Food was harder to change and as a result I made no progress with my results by the mid check in.
